Investigative Journalism / News Magazine
Investigative Journalism or News Magazines are TV shows with short segments on a variety of subjects. They feature a varied format of interviews, commentary, and entertainment. Segments might focus on current events, controversial topics, famous or important people, and go further in-depth than typical newscasts. Reporters deeply investigate a single topic of interest and spend time researching the stories. Segments are similar to mini-documentaries. Segments are engaging, intriguing, and possibly emotional.
Famous news magazines such as 60 Minutes, Vice, or AL Jazeera's Listening Post might dive into controversial topics such as political corruption or scandals. If our segment is about DIS they must be more upbeat. Off-campus stories can be more provocative if you are given permission after consulting with the teacher.
